Project Objective

Design, print, and photograph any packaging of my choosing.

Solution

With the subject entirely open, I chose wine and used the freedom to push into illustration. The label is a mosaic, a form I picked for what it means as much as how it looks. The pieces that don't match, just the way a person is, and the way the occasions for a bottle of wine are, a girl’s night, a company party, a first date. I drew the mosaic birds on Adobe Fresno/Illustrator, and created the labels in Adobe InDesign. I produced the packaging in print to confirm the illustration held at actual size and on real substrate, and shot the finished bottles myself so the photography sold the piece as a product rather than a flat file.
